mHUB, Chicago’s physical product innovation center, is looking for a membership intern to support our Community and Devolopment manager. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Chicago’s startup industry filled with dynamic entrepreneurs, leading corporations, and seasoned investors. The selected intern will be fully immersed in mHUB’s culture of innovation, attending cutting-edge events and discussing the latest trends in product innovation, with mHUB’s industry leaders, serial entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, politicians, and trend-setters - all who are supporting mHUB's mission to drive physical product innovation and help the Midwest continue to be an industry-leading manufacturing community.


Just two stops on the Blue line to downtown Chicago, mHUB sits in the heart of West Town, neighbors with some of the fastest growing Chicago-born companies like Groupon, Lightbank, and Uptake. Chicago’s CTA Blue line stop makes mHUB an easy, stress-free commute for interns traveling from Evanston as well as those coming from the city. mHUB is an ideal workplace for energetic, entrepreneurial-minded students looking to immerse themselves in Chicago’s developing economy and startup culture.


Responsibilities:


- Help to maintain and recruit a diverse community of mHUB members
- Assist with customer relationship management and business development
- Strategize and implement new initiatives that meet the needs of mHUB members
- Contribute to mHUB’s growth and shape the future of Chicago’s manufacturing and product innovation

 


The ideal candidate should be working towards a bachelor’s degree or enrolled in a graduate program. Independence and creativity are a must, as is an enthusiastic interest in manufacturing, technology, or entrepreneurship. Startup industry knowledge or experience in programming is a plus.
