Briteseed, LLC is a medical device start-up that focuses on developing novel surgical resection tools. The first product of Briteseed is SafeSnips, which is a forward-thinking technology that puts sense into surgical cutting tools. By integrating blood vessel detection technology with existing surgical cutting tools, SafeSnips can find vessels at risk of uncontrolled bleeding even where tactile feedback is unavailable. SafeSnips can identify the presence and diameter of blood vessels in the immediate cutting area. The surgeon will be alerted via video monitors currently used in the operating room.
